First-time students enrolled in remedial courses at Columbus State Community College (OH) will have coaches available to help them create an educational completion plan, complete their developmental education so they’re ready for college-level courses and face challenges along the way. Community college graduates will serve as the coaches through the AmeriCorps College Completion Coaches Initiative, receiving about $12,000 in living expenses and a $5,500 education award to pay down their own college debt.
